| Most long distance customers, especially residential customers, pay for whole minutes of calling. This means, for example, if a customer is on the telephone for 22 seconds they would pay the full-minute rate of 5.9¢. On our program, the customer would only pay for 24 seconds of calling or 2¢. Why? Because we only round up to the next 6-second fraction (increment) of a minute, instead of the next whole minute. Here's a breakdown of the six second increments:
